Bossing and Drop Rules Empty Bossing and Drop Rules

Post by Xanadu Mon Mar 18, 2013 6:54 pm

    A) Boss Calling. A boss may only be called by a warrior, rouge or ranger that is no less than 20 levels below the boss or a druid or mage that is no less than 30 levels below the boss. A CLAN MEMBER MUST BE LOOKING AT THE BOSS TO CALL IT (because you don't know from an "X" on your map if another clan is already there). Clan members MUST accept members of the clan that are of level to call the boss. The group is to form by grouping with the clan member who called the boss. So long as the clan member who calls the boss is of sufficient level to call the boss, the clan member who calls the boss has the right to stay within the primary boss group. If the group is full, additional clan members may form a secondary group to help killing the boss.

    B) Tanking - The tank should be designated in the group either before starting the boss or as soon thereafter as possible. Tank designation should NOT be after the drop. Because the bosses are so close to a leystone, for the following bosses, there is no need to designate a tank and, if a tank is designated, the tank does not have to be paid for idols or potions: Stonefang bosses, Ironspike Bosses, Redbane bosses.

    C) Drop Distributions: The following rules apply to the distribution of drops when a boss is called.

    1. Clan only – Single Group – If a boss is defeated by a single group of members of the clan only, then pure Fischer rule applies. The drop belongs to the person who received it and the pre-designated tank or tanks are compensated equally by those who received the drops at 250 gold per idol or potion used.

    2. Clan only – Excessive Group – If a boss is defeated by a group or member of the clan only, but that group is too large, then all drops must be passed to the highest ranking clan member present (Ragi, Yibbs first, then gens present, then guards, and if none of those, highest level person), or the person designated by the highest ranking clan member (the “roll leader”), who will coordinate a roll for the drops. If those who were outside the group voluntarily forfeit their claim to the drops, pure Fischer rule applies and there is no need to pass drops.

    a. Roll rules – The roll leader will tell all who participated in the boss where the roll will occur and will collect all drops. The roll leader will then designate when clan members who want the drop will roll their dice. If a clan member rolls outside of the roll leader’s designated time, that clan member forfeits any right to a drop. If a clan member rolls more than once, that clan member forfeits any right to a drop. The clan member who rolls the highest of non-forfeited rolls has the first choice of dropped items. The clan member who rolls the second highest of non-forfeited rolls has the second choice of dropped items. The clan member who rolls the third highest of non-forfeited rolls has the third choice of dropped items.

    b. Passing won items – A roll winner’s item is theirs to do with it what they want. So, if a clan member who has a winning roll does not want the drop item they have won, they can keep the item (and pass it to whomever they want), have the item go to the next highest roller, or donate the item to the clan bank.

    3. Clan only – Quest requests from clan

We want to help clan members complete their quests. If a group is full and an ungrouped clan member needs a boss for a quest, the ungrouped clan member must tell the group “quest” or “I need for quest.” Unless a higher level person in the group volunteers to drop for the clan member who needs the quest, the lowest level person in the group that does not need the mob for a quest must drop the group for the clan member that needs the quest. IF YOU STATE THAT YOU NEED A QUEST AND YOU DO NOT, YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE DISCIPLINE, INCLUDING TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT EXPULSION FROM THE CLAN. If the clan group is concerned about being killstolen (ksed) by another clan or if the quest is a repeatable quest (such as "Retaking Fairieland"), this quest rule does not apply and dropping of the group is purely at the discretion of the members in the group.

    4. Clan only – Quest request from outsiders – Horizons cares about building good relationships with outsiders. Whether a group is full or not, if an ungrouped non-clan member states that they need a boss for a quest, the clan members in the group should say “Drop to Horizons” and if the non-clan member agrees, they should be grouped so they may complete their quest. However, Fischer rules do not apply when we allow an outsider in to help them with the quest. The drop is to be passed to Horizons and any drop received by the non-clan member and passed to the clan is to be resolved by those who helped with the roll rules. Again, if the group is concerned about being killstolen (ksed) by another clan or if the quest is a repeatable quest (such as "Retaking Fairieland"), this quest rule does not apply and dropping of the group is purely at the discretion of the members in the group.

    5. Outsider or Outsider & Clan Boss Call – As stated above, Horizons cares about building good relationships with our friends who are outsiders and treating all players with respect. If an outsider or an outsider along with a clan member call a boss, then the outsider and clan member who called the boss are not to be asked to leave the group. IF AN OUTSIDER CALLS THE BOSS OR IS IN THE GROUP AND RECEIVES THE DROP (UNLESS THE OUTSIDER IS ADMITTED TO THE GROUP TO COMPLETE A QUEST), THE OUTSIDER KEEPS THE DROP THEY RECEIVED AND SHOULD NEVER BE ASKED TO ROLL FOR THE DROP EVEN WHEN THE GROUP IS EXCESSIVE. Further, OUTSIDERS MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE ROLL RULES BECAUSE ROLLING IS ONLY FOR DROPS TO HORIZONS.

The reason or this rule is that outsiders who admit us to their boss calls or groups are extending us a courtesy. We treat that courtesy with respect in kind and it is rude to ask them to give up their drops when they extend a courtesy to us. If we are extending the courtesy, by allowing the outsider to complete a quest, then it is polite for them to return drops to us. However, our friends who engage in boss fights with us get to keep what they receive in drops, but do not get to participate in rolls when they don't get a drop.

    6. Disputes with Other Clans - Occasionally, there will be a dispute with another clan related to a boss. In some circumstances, the guard or general will need to collect drops to address the dispute amicably with the other clan (such as to roll against another clan to fairly resolve the dispute). In that case, drops must be provided to the guard or general to come to an amicable resolution with the other clan. In this rare circumstance, CLAN MEMBERS MUST PROVIDE DROPS TO THE GUARD OR GENERAL. If the dispute is resolved by the drop staying in Horizons, the guard or gen will return the items to those who received the drops (or were awarded them from a roll in the case of an excessive group).

GUARDS AND GENERALS WILL HAVE (and are expected to have) DETAILED KNOWLEDGE OF THESE RULES. ALL DISPUTES OVER THE RULES MUST BE REPORTED TO A GUARD OR GENERAL ONLINE, PREFERRABLY INTERDIVISION FIRST. DISPUTES ARE NOT TO BE RESOLVED VIA CLAN CHAT. GROUP YOUR GUARD AND/OR GENERAL AND RESOLVE ISSUES VIA GROUP CHAT. THE ASSIGNED GENERAL WILL HAVE FINAL SAY IN HOW THE DISPUTE IS RESOLVED (and if there are two generals involved, we will resolve the issue). COMPLAINING ABOUT RESOLVED ISSUES OR FIGHTING ABOUT THESE RULES IN CLAN CHAT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL BE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINE, INCLUDING REMOVAL FROM THE CLAN.
